Yes. Several beautiful beaches and calm swimming areas are a short drive from Lyngvær Lodges.
You can also swim directly from the shoreline below the lodges. Please note that we are not allowed to build docks or fixed access paths, so the terrain can be rocky and slippery. It is free to swim wherever you choose, but we recommend using swimming shoes and being careful with currents and changing conditions.
Larger beaches such as Haukland, Uttakleiv and Rørvikstranda are also within easy reach. In summer, the long light makes beach visits a highlight, while the rest of the year these spots are ideal for walks, photography and enjoying the unique landscape.

Lofoten offers rich wildlife year-round, and Lyngvær is a good base for spotting sea eagles, seabirds, otters and seasonal marine life. You can often see eagles flying over the lodges, especially in the mornings and evenings. Otters sometimes appear along the shoreline, and seabirds are common in the surrounding bays. Grouse and moose also live in the area, and they are occasionally seen near the lodges or along nearby trails.
For marine wildlife such as orcas or whales, guided boat trips from Svolvær provide the best chance, as experienced operators know the feeding areas and seasonal patterns. Summer brings puffins and active bird cliffs, while winter offers clear light and good opportunities for eagle photography.
