Yes! Lyngvær is located in one of the best areas in Lofoten for northern lights. The lodges face open sky and have minimal light pollution, so you can often watch the aurora directly from the terrace, the jacuzzi or even the living-room windows. Peak season is from September to April, but clear, cold nights at any time in winter can bring strong shows.

The best time to see the northern lights in Lofoten is from mid September to April. In Lyngvær, the nights are dark enough during these months, and the lodges face open sky with very little light pollution. This gives excellent viewing conditions directly from the terrace, the jacuzzi or even the living-room windows.
The strongest shows often appear on clear, cold nights. Autumn gives reflections over calm water, winter brings bright displays over snow-covered peaks and early spring offers long, quiet evenings with crisp Arctic air.

The midnight sun is visible in Lofoten from late May to mid-July. During this period the sun never sets above the Arctic Circle, and Lyngvær is filled with soft daylight around the clock. The light shifts slowly through orange, pink and gold, creating perfect conditions for late hikes, calm evenings on the terrace and unforgettable rounds of golf at Lofoten Links.
Even after the midnight sun ends, the nights stay bright through much of July and August, giving long, warm evenings with a true Arctic summer feeling.

For the best chance to see the northern lights in Lofoten, step outside and find a dark, open area. In Lyngvær, the terrace, roads between the lodges and the shoreline work well because there is very little light pollution. Let your eyes adjust to the darkness for 5 to 10 minutes, and keep indoor lights low / turn them off.
Look north, stay patient and check the sky often. Clear nights are ideal, and even a short break in the clouds can reveal a strong show. A warm jacket, a tripod and a thermos make the experience even better.
