The vision behind

Designed by Vebjørn Myhre

Eight years ago, this small peninsula was heather, stone and quiet shoreline. Standing here, Vebjørn Myhre saw the outline of something new — modern lodges shaped by the landscape rather than placed on top of it.

From the first sketches to the final details, the work was done with a dedicated team from Bolig for Folket. The shared goal was clear: create homes that feel anchored to Lofoten’s nature and built to stand through shifting seasons.

Just twenty minutes from Svolvær, yet hidden from the main road, Lyngvær felt untouched. A gentle slope toward the sea, small rises in the terrain and open sky in all directions. Even locals were surprised this shoreline existed. That quiet sense of space became the foundation.

Built to belong

Lofoten changes fast. Calm mornings turn into strong weather. To build here means adapting to that rhythm. The lodges were designed to blend in — low, steady, and aligned with the landscape.

Clad in Siberian larch that softens and silvers over time, each lodge follows the natural slope of the ground. One floor. Modest footprint. Views without disturbing the views of others. From inside, the sea and mountains feel close and unobstructed.

There are no exterior lights. Darkness is part of the experience, and the northern lights deserve an open sky.

A quiet base for life outdoors

Lyngvær Lodges are a base, not a resort. A calm, warm place to return to after weather, wind or long days outside.

You enter to a sense of stillness. Natural materials, soft tones and warm floors set the tone. The windows hold the sea and the shifting light. The atmosphere feels grounded — modern comfort shaped for the surroundings.

Ceilings rise to three and a half metres. Bedrooms are spacious, beds comfortable, and blackout curtains keep the midnight sun out when needed. Ventilation keeps the air fresh, and eco-friendly heating maintains a stable climate year-round.

Facing the light

Every lodge turns toward the southwest. In summer, the evening light stretches across the sea and lingers through the night. In winter, the horizon glows in soft colours before the sky shifts to green when conditions align. From the terrace or the jacuzzi, the light becomes part of the stay.

Designed for feeling

Lyngvær Lodges were created to offer quiet comfort close to raw nature. Privacy, materials, orientation, and the choice to preserve darkness all serve the same purpose: a sense of belonging in the landscape.

The result is a place that holds you after a day outdoors. A modern, calm base in Lofoten. A place that feels like home.
