The perfect place for your Lofoten adventure. Beautiful and cozy. We loved the sauna and the whirlpool.

A very nice view. The cabins in front are spaced far apart, so it still feels private and peaceful.

Here you’ll find answers to common questions about the lodges, travel and your stay in Lofoten.

Lofoten is beautiful in every season, and the best time to visit depends on the experience you want.
Summer in Lyngvær offers the midnight sun, long days, mild weather and ideal conditions for hiking, kayaking and golf at Lofoten Links. Autumn brings calm days, rich colours and clear nights for northern lights. Winter has dramatic Arctic light, snowy peaks and cosy evenings inside the lodge. Spring is bright and refreshing, with longer days and crisp weather.

Lofoten is a year-round destination. Each season has its own rhythm, and Lyngvær Lodges is designed to feel comfortable in all of them.

From summer hikes to winter nights, the lodges are robust yet welcoming. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame peaks, sea and shifting light, while layouts fit couples, families and groups.

The closest airport to Lyngvær Lodges is Svolvær Airport (SVJ), located about 25 minutes away by car. This is the most convenient option if you want a short transfer and a smooth arrival in Lofoten.

Two additional airports are also commonly used:

Leknes Airport (LKN) about 50 minutes from Lyngvær
Evenes/Harstad–Narvik Airport (EVE) about 3 hours from Lyngvær Lodges, offering more frequent flights and often the best prices.

All three airports connect easily to the E10, the main road through Lofoten. The drive from any of them is scenic, with sea views and mountain landscapes from the moment you land.

Lyngvær Lodges is set in peaceful nature, away from busy roads, yet centrally located in the heart of Lofoten. It is just 20 minutes west of Svolvær (SVJ) and close to Henningsvær, giving easy access to beaches, hikes, villages and activities across the islands.

Guests who book directly with us receive a detailed arrival guide, along with exclusive transportation benefits, including discounts on rental cars and selected local services, shared after booking.

No. Lyngvær Lodges is not a hotel. We offer a self-accommodating lodge concept based on Norwegian cabin culture, elevated for modern travel. You are renting a privately owned lodge, fully equipped and prepared for your stay, with privacy, space and independence.

Important: There is no reception or daily hotel service. Instead, you have your own lodge, your own rhythm and direct access to nature.

All lodges at Lyngvær share the same architectural design on the outside, but each one has its own character inside, as the lodges are privately owned and individually furnished. Prices vary based on size, number of bedrooms, bed capacity, layout, views, privacy and location within the area. Facilities such as a jacuzzi, sauna or EV charging also affect pricing.

The lodges are carefully positioned in the Lyngvær terrain, with differences in elevation and outlook giving all lodges some level of ocean and mountain views. Every lodge is set in beautiful surroundings, with the ocean, mountains, northern lights and midnight sun forming part of the experience, and with easy access to the wider Lofoten islands.

Self-accommodating means the lodge functions as a fully equipped home rather than a serviced hotel room. The lodge is prepared and ready when you arrive, and we expect it to be treated with care during your stay.

We ask guests to respect the property, leave it in the same condition as upon arrival, and handle simple day-to-day matters themselves. This is standard in Norwegian hyttekultur and part of the experience.

Yes. All lodges have a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, including an induction cooktop, oven, dishwasher and fridge. You will find cookware, plates, glasses and utensils for preparing meals during your stay. Basic items such as salt, pepper and a small selection of spices are also available.

Many guests enjoy cooking at the lodge after a day exploring Lofoten, with plenty of space for shared meals and calm evenings inside.
