Hoven hike (Gimsøya)
Hoven is the perfect family or beginner-friendly hike on Gimsøya, offering panoramic ocean and mountain views without the exposure typical of Lofoten’s sharper peaks. The trail start behind Lofoten Links Golf Club, it is gradual, grassy, and safe, making it a great choice in both summer and winter (with traction aids). From the summit, you’ll see the long beaches of Gimsøy, the Arctic Ocean, and the jagged mountain walls of Austvågøya. Hoven is a peaceful alternative to Lofoten’s more dramatic climbs and a great option for days when you want an easier, calmer outing.
